Abstract:
The volume in which this article is published is the final result of the discussions in the framework of the development of a coordinated project, focused on the research on how the policies acting at supralocal level during the High Middle Ages, whether states or other institutions, interact with local communities in their territories and how we can analyze these processes from the study of the territory. In order to approach this work proposal, from the contextualized reading of documentary sources, two case studies are analyzed in nuclear spaces of the Kingdom of Asturias during the Early Middle Ages: The village of Vigaña, located in a mid-mountain area, and the village of San Romano, located in a valley floor.
