El Epigrama de Arión de Metimna y el mito de este poeta

Abstract

Se estudian las interpretaciones que se han hecho del texto del epigrama inscrito en una estatua de bronce, su atribución y su posible datación. En relación con el contenido, se analiza y enjuicia la anécdota del salvamento de Arión a lomos de un delfín (Hdt. 1,23-24) y se muestra su nula historicidad. Tras seguir las huellas documentales en los textos antiguos griegos y el aparato crítico de la inscripción, se llega a la conclusión de que el nombre Arión y el de su padre Cicleo, son invenciones de tradición legendaria. We study the interpretations that have been made in the text of the epigram inscribed and their possible dating. We analyze and prosecute the story of the rescue of Arion riding a dolphin and its null historicity is displayed. After follow the documentary traces in Greek texts, you reach the conclusion that the name Arion and his father Cicleo, are inventions of legendary tradition.
