Arte, diseño y arquitectura industrial en la labor de Joaquín Vaquero Palacios (1900-1998)

Abstract

En este trabajo se aborda la labor desarrollada por Joaquín Vaquero Palacios (1900-1998), desde la aspiración a la síntesis de las artes, en conjuntos industriales de gran notoriedad. Comprendiendo las vertientes arquitectónica, pictórica, escultórica y el diseño de interiores, su programa responde a algunas de las premisas fundamentales planteadas desde el Movimiento Moderno. Particularmente, las centrales hidroeléctricas han constituido un campo magistral de actuación en este ámbito. La presencia de la ingeniería a gran escala, la dotación de una alta capacidad financiera, así como la calidad y representatividad de sus edificios, dotan de una destacada singularidad a estos conjuntos.; This article deals with the work developed by Joaquín Vaquero Palacios (1900-1998), from his aspiration to synthesize the arts in industrial sets of great notoriety. Including architecture, painting, sculpture and interior design, his program is an answer to some of the fundamental premises posed by the Modern Movement. In particular, hydroelectric power stations have been a fundamental field in this respect. The singularity of his creations are mainly the result of the presence of great scale engineering, the granting of high funding, as well as the quality and representativeness of his buildings.
