Resumen:
As a well-informed traveller who provides first-hand information about the places he visited, Pausanias (second half of the 2nd century AD) is an invaluable source of data in areas such as Greek art, archaeology and history, as well as mythology and literature. Accordingly, the first part of this chapter deals with the sanctuaries, statues and images of Eros mentioned in his "Description of Greece", together with the rites associated with this deity. The second section is devoted to Pausanias' views on love, as expressed in various parts of the work. Both sections also deal with myths and stories related to Eros and love in general.
