Resumen:
The work of Athenaeus (late 2nd century AD) contains many references to Eros and love, sometimes from the mouth of the narrator, who is identified with the author, and sometimes through the characters who are talking around the table at a long banquet. The Deipnosophists, especially in Book 13, which is entirely devoted to love, but also elsewhere, provides a great deal of data on the subject and is indeed a fundamental source for the study of Eros and love in ancient Greece. This paper examines the data provided by Athenaeus and organises them thematically in order to provide a systematic treatment of each aspect.
