Reinterpretando lo rural para un diseño de mobiliario contemporáneo. El hacer de Rafa Martín y la perspectiva estética de Julio Valle

Abstract

Este trabajo explora el diseño colaborativo entre el neoartesano y carpintero Rafa Martín, afincado y con taller en un entorno rural del occidente asturiano, y el arquitecto Julio Valle, quien colabora a su vez con su hija María Valle, en el estudio Valle Arquitectura. A través de sus creaciones, podemos percibir en el diseño de interiores y de mobiliario, la incorporación de lo contemporáneo a lo tradicional, dando lugar a piezas unitarias y singulares. Asimismo, este artículonos permite e invita a profundizar sobre cuestiones de relevancia actual, como la vuelta a los materiales locales y sostenibles o la recuperación de elementos del patrimonio rural. En el caso de análisis, todo ello se incorpora aportando nuevos enfoques estéticos e impulsando nuevas formas de hacer desde una visión novedosa.

This work explores the collaborative design between the neo-artisan and carpenter Rafa Martín, who lives and has a workshop in a rural setting in western Asturias, and the architect Julio Valle, who in turn collaborates with his daughter María Valle, in the Valle Arquitectura studio. Through his creations, we can perceive in the interior and furniture design, the incorporation of the contemporary to the traditional, giving rise to unique and unitary pieces. Likewise, this article allows us and invites us to delve into issues of current relevance, such as the return to local and sustainable materials or the recovery of elements of rural heritage. In the case of analysis, all of this is incorporated by providing new aesthetic approaches and promoting new ways of doing things from a novel vision.
