Relaciones entre actividad física, consumo de dieta mediterránea y uso de videojuegos en alumnado de 5º y 6º de educación primaria

El aumento del sedentarismo en la sociedad actual encarna uno de los principales problemas de salud del siglo XXI, agravado por el paulatino crecimiento de uso de las nuevas tecnologías, un aumento del abandono de la actividad física y una dieta alimenticia poco saludable. Se plantea como objetivo, conocer los hábitos de actividad física, l adherencia a la dieta mediterránea y el uso de videojuegos en una población de estudiantes de Educación Primaria de Oviedo, así como analizar las posibles relaciones existentes entre las variables. En la presente investigación participaron 98 estudiantes de 10 a 13 años (M =11,74 años; DT = 0,60). Se utilizó un diseño descriptivo y de corte transversal. Los escolares respondieron a tres cuestionarios validados que contenían ítems sobre actividad físico-deportivo (PAQ-C), dieta alimenticia (KIDMED) y sobre uso de videojuegos. Como principales resultados podemos señalar que a los niños les gusta jugar a videojuegos más que a las niñas y lo hacen más durante el viernes y fin de semana que durante el resto de la semana. Por otro lado, no se han podido concluir relaciones significativas entre el rendimiento académico y el uso de videojuegos. En conclusión, se ha podido evidenciar que los videojuegos son una realidad muy presente en la vida de los niños. Por lo tanto, hace falta desde la comunidad educativa y las familias ofrecer otras alternativas de ocio saludables.
