Un acercamiento arqueológico a los sistemas tradicionales de regadío de pastos en Asturias

Abstract

Dentro del espacio agrario tradicional asturiano existen diversos modos de aprovechamiento de los pastos, siendo uno de los más complejos en cuanto a su desarrollo técnico el del regadío. Los múltiples trabajos realizados por arqueólogos e historiadores hasta el momento sobre la organización y evolución del terrazgo en Asturias se han centrado prioritariamente en los grandes espacios de explotación de cultivos y pastos. Desde la antropología se ha prestado más atención al regadío, pero ha evitado el estudio de sus estructuras. Se plantea por ello un acercamiento a los sistemas de riego tradicionales que añade la arqueología a la información proveniente de la tradición oral y la documentación escrita reciente. Con ello pretendemos probar la validez del método para el estudio de estas estructuras y la posibilidad de obtener una información que no presentan otras fuentes. / / / In the traditional field system of Asturias there are several ways of using pastures, being irrigation one of the most complex by technical developement. The archaeological and historical studies about organization and evolution of field systems in Asturias had been centered in the biggest crops and pastures until this moment. Antropologists has paid attention to irrigation systems, but they have avoided the study of its structures. We suggest an approximation to traditional irrigation systems that adds the archaeology to the information obtained from folklore and recent documents. With this, we intend to prove that this method is valid for the study of these structures and for obtaining information non existant in other sources.
