El epistolario inédito de Tomás Bretón a Isaac Albéniz (1890-1908): nuevos documentos sobre la música nacional del paso del siglo XIX al XX

Abstract

Presentamos la correspondencia inédita enviada por Tomás Bretón a Isaac Albéniz en el periodo 1890-1908, conservada en el legado Albéniz de la Biblioteca de Catalunya. En este epistolario se muestran con claridad las opiniones de Bretón sobre la ópera nacional y la música sinfónica, contribuyendo así a clarificar algunas cuestiones básicas sobre la ideología y la creación musical española de fines del XIX; A presentation of the unpublíshed correspondence Tomás Bretón sent to Isaac Albéniz in the period 1890-1908, held in the Albéniz Collection inthe Biblioteca ole Catalunya. Bretona opinions about national opera and sympho- nic musíc are clearly manífest in these letters, thus helping to clarify some of the bastc issues concerning the tdeology and Spantsh musical composition al the end of the níneteenth century.
