Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan las luchas protagonizadas por los pueblos balcánicos para liberarse de la tiránica dominación del Imperio Otomano y las rivalidades de las potencias europeas, Austria- Hungría y Rusia, para controlar a los nuevos Estados. A lo largo de las cuatro décadas estudiadas se suceden vertiginosamente guerras, tratados de paz y nuevas guerras, hasta llegar al final de la I Guerra Mundial y el nacimiento de Yugoslavia.** This essay studies the struggle of the Balkan peoples to liberate themselves of the tyrannical domination of the Ottoman Empire. The antagonism between two european powers, Austria- Hungary and Russia, for the paramountcy over the new states, is also axamined in this article. The autor provide an account of the wars, treaties and unachieved aspirations that brought World War I and the birth of Yugoslavia.
