dc.description.abstractThis Master’s Thesis uses a mixed-methods research design to evaluate the efficiency of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP hereinafter) Model to help educators in Asturias address challenges identified in previous studies. The SIOP Model is an instructional framework for lesson planning and delivery to make content accessible to English Language Learners (ELLs henceforth) and simultaneously develop the four language skills (Short, et al. 2004; 2017). Through its 8 components and 30 features, the model provides teachers with the appropriate tools and practices to ensure quality learning of content and language.
