This paper presents a low-cost implementation of an UHF-RFID gate featuring an effective tag moving direction classification. The smart RFID gate combines a Near-Field Focused array antenna with a phase-based direction estimation method. Preliminary measurements confirm good performance in terms of stray read reduction and movement direction capabilities.spa
