Abstract

La cohors 11 Asturum equitata tiene su origen en los años finales de Augusto o en los primeros de Tiberio, siendo adiestrada posiblemente en el campamento de la legión X Gemina.Su historia militar se inicia en Germania Inferior, desde donde sería trasladada a Britania; en esta provincia su primer acuartelamiento sería el de Bremia, desplazándose en el siglo III al muro de Adriano, con Aesica (Greatchesters) como acuartelamiento.Entre sus cargos tenemos noticias de un prefecto en Germania Inferior y de otros varios en suelo británico, así como de un imaginifer. Los últimos años los pasaría, ya en el siglo IV, en suelo egipcio, teniendo a Busiris como campamento.; The Cohors II Asturum equitata has its origins either in the final years of the Augustan age or in the early years of Tiberian rule, it being most possibly trained in the camp of the legio X Gemina.Its military history starts in Germania Inferior, from where it was taken to Britannia; in this latter province the first camp was located at Bremia, from which it was removed in the course of the 3rd century to Hadrian's Wall, the camp then being located at Aesica (Greatchesters).A prefect is known among its military ranks in Germania Inferior and several, an imaginifer included, on British soil. Its final years ere spent on Egyptian soil during the 4th century, the camp being located at Busiris.
