I am working since 2017 in the Dept. of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering of the University of Oviedo (Spain), currently as Associate Professor. In 2014 I received my PhD from University of Santiago de Compostela, where I was researching on marine engineering and renewable energy. Later in 2015 I was granted by the Post-Doctoral Program of the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal for the development and optimization of CECO, a novel wave energy conversion system, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Currently, I conduct my research on offshore structures and marine renewable energy. Apart from participating and directing national and regional R&D projects as well as private contracts with companies, I am the principal investigator at my institution of PORTOS, an European project to promote and develop renewable energy in ports. I am also teaching several courses on continuum mechanics and structures at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels in civil engineering and natural resources.
